How to reach Blagoevgrad from Sofia

Several companies provide bus transport services from Sofia to Blagoevgrad.
Buses to Blagoevgrad leave the Central Bus Station in Sofia. There are at least 25 scheduled buses per day at intervals of 15 to 30 minutes before noon and 45 to 60 minutes in the afternoon. The first bus leaves at 6.40 a.m. and the last one at 19.00 h.
Tickets are available at the counters within the Bus Station hall. The
price for a one-way ticket is 11 leva (approximately 5.50 euros).
The travel distance is approximately 100 km. The travel time is 90 to 120 minutes depending on traffic jams.
The train time-table can be found on Centralna Gara. Tickets cost 10-12 leva
Sofia Bus and Railway Central Stations
The Sofia Bus and Railway Central Station are located near the city center. (See the map link below). The stations are located next to each other.

Some important tips
Sofia Airport provides a courtesy shuttle between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 every 30 minutes between 07:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs. Intra-terminal transportation between 18:00 hrs. and 23:00 hrs. can be requested at the Information desks inside the public areas of both terminals.
Public bus line No 84 connects Sofia Airport with the city centre.
It follows the route: Gurko str. - Tsarigradsko shousse Blvd - Prodan Tarakchiev Str.-
Terminal 2 Ð Terminal 1 (via Prodan Tarakchiev Str. and Brussels Blvd).
The return route is via Christopher Columbus Blvd to Gurko str. direction.
The Sofia University bus stop provides a convenient transport connection to the city
Metro and other bus and trolleybus lines of the public transport system.
A trip between the initial and the final destination lasts approximately 30 minutes on working days and 25 minutes on weekends and holidays.
At Sofia Airport, tickets for the urban transport can be bought at the newspapers kiosks in the public areas of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
A piece of baggage sized larger than 60 cm x 60 cm x 40 cm is charged by a separate ticket.
A ticket is valid only punched in the device inside the bus.

For your comfort and safety, we recommend that you take a taxi at the designated taxi stands in front of the western exits from Arrivals at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Alternatively, you could request a taxi at the desks of the taxi companies, which are located in the Arrival halls of the both terminals.
